When you are measuring different shapes / objects, we will be measuring to the nearest 16th. If you look on each of the rulers in the classroom you will see that there are 16 tick marks in between each inch. DO NOT FORGET TO REDUCE.
A little trick for reducing: When you are counting the tick marks, if you end on an ODD number, You do not have to reduce. If you land on an EVEN number, you must reduce until you reach an ODD number.
